CPRD COMMENTS February 14, 2008
CPRD MARKS 20 YEARS
The park district was formed on July 1, 1987 by public vote. Previously CARPA
was the local park and recreation department. It was under the direct
supervision and funded directly by the local energy companies. On January 4,
1988 the first employees were formally hired by what is now known as CPRD.
Recently 4 individuals were recognized by CPRD for their 20 years of service.
All these individuals started on the January 4th date. They include Duane Cole,
Becky Ballew, Tammy Robinson and Rick Harbin.
We congratulate them on their service to our community and look forward to their
contributions in the future. We are proud of their accomplishments and all the
other dedicated co-workers who give their best efforts to our citizens. We’ve
done some amazing things in 20 years with the support of this community and will
continue to strive for quality opportunities and facilities for all our
residents in the future.
DID YOU KNOW?
Tuff Harris former Colstrip Colt and NFL football player was the person
responsible for painting the current skate park including graphics as a member
of our teen night staff. He made roughly $7.00 per hour which is a little less
than his practice squad wages and no longer competitive with his NFL roster
salary.
