Junior Olympic Skills Competition
Local youngsters between the ages of 8 & 13 participated in the Jr. Olympic
Skills Competition. This free grassroots youth participation program allows boys
and girls, competing separately, the opportunity to showcase their athletic
abilities in three athletic events—basketball, soccer, and tennis. The program
is designed to encourage youth participation in sport while promoting
sportsmanship.
The basketball portion of Jr. Olympic Skills Competition was held in February:
Boys
8-9 O-Shon Old Mouse with a soccer of 13
10-11 Deving Stenulson with score of 27
12-13 Adam Myers with a score of 11
Girls
8-9 Amaya LaFranier with a score of 3
10-11 Tyra Limpy with a score of 9
The Tennis and Soccer portions of the Jr. Olympic Skills Competition were held
April 16th & 17th.

These champions will advance to the Regional Competition Saturday June 21st in
Hardin. This is one of the Regional Competitions being held nationwide that will
determine those youngsters advancing to National Finals.
