General Expectations of CPRD Nursery Personnel

We expect Nursery personnel to be cheerful and gracious toward every patron.
We will greet parents and children with a smile both in the nursery and the building.
All efforts will be made to gain the confidence of parents and children. These efforts will be emplified by;
    a. Encouraging comments
    b. Distracting child with a toy.
    c. Seeking parents advice on interacting with their child.
When children are present the Nursery Personnel will not partake in personal activities.
Personal and physical needs of the children will be attended to immediately and empathetically. (Drinks, diaper changes, hands washed, etc.)

Small rewards for good behavior will be given and assist in building gtood character.

Below rewards are possible only if the ration of children to Nursery peronnel is one baby and 4 older children per attendee.

Basketball in gym
Free play in racquetball courts
Drink from downstairs fountain
Free play in dance area

Weather permitting:

Play in Park Playground
Nature hikes around park
Wading in Kiddy Pool - 12 noon to 1 p.m.

Behavior Correction

Avoid any situation that might be interpreted as abusive (verbal or physical)
Avoid questionable/uncomfortable situations (multi gender restroom use, inappropriate handling) Parents will be asked to handle all situation where child's behavior is inappropriate and cannot be resolved by standard procedures.
Do not yell at the child, move quickly to the child and speak softly to discuss the problem.
Do not shake children or jerk them by their arms.
When a child is placed in time out - gently discuss appropriate behavior
Name calling from the children or nursery personnel is not acceptable and will be corrected.

If you feel these standers are being ignored please bring them to the nursery supervisors attention immediately. Cooperation between parents and nursery personnel will enhance your child's visit.

Summer Session Lunch break: 11:35 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Children's lunches will be served at the above time. If your child is in the nursery at this time and does not have a lunch they will be offered a nutritious snack. If this is a concern, let us know prior to leaving your child.
